I interned at Edge Autonomy as an Aerospace Mechanical Engineer, where I supported a wide range of rapid design and manufacturing efforts critical to meeting project deadlines. After interning, I transitioned to an associate aer-mechanical engineering speciist I while I completed my master's. I completed independent design work, including modeling silicone plugs and creating molds used to produce composite components. These plugs were then applied in the layup process of pre-injected carbon fiber plies, contributing directly to component fabrication. I owned and designed vehicle hardware, such as antenna ground planes and air intakes, to mitigate EMI from initial prototyping through low-rate production.
Beyond design, I executed mechanical testing of the aircraft chassis, helping conduct and analyze tests to validate design modifications against customer requirements. I also contributed to failure analysis by compiling test data to identify performance limits and guide future improvements. In addition, I collaborated with the EMI team to retrofit aircraft for compliance with 461 EMI shielding standards against RF interference.
