In this lab, we were tasked with designing a fully electric ATV from the ground up. This included selecting, designing, and integrating components such as the motor, shafts, brakes, bearings, chains, gearboxes, and overall mechanical assembly. Our design process involved referencing Shigley’s Mechanical Engineering Design and using manufacturer catalogs to ensure proper sizing, performance, and compatibility of all components. This project deepened my understanding of mechanical systems integration and real-world design constraints.
